For those of us who wear glasses, even slight changes in the lenses can have a significant impact on our eyes, even causing damage. Lenses are also a major factor affecting the comfort of wearing glasses. Therefore, cleaning the lenses is crucial for maintaining a pair of glasses. So how should we clean our lenses ourselves?

Choosing a Cleaning Agent

In daily life, glasses come into contact with various stains, such as accidental oil stains or skin oils. There is a coating layer on the surface of the lenses. For fingerprints, oil stains, etc., adhering to this coating layer, a lens cleaning agent is needed to remove them.

If you don't have lens cleaning solution, you can use dish soap. However, do not use hand soap or facial cleanser. Certain chemical components in these products may corrode the coating layer. Long-term use can cause the coating layer to peel off.

Cleaning Steps

After selecting an appropriate cleaning agent, you can start cleaning the lenses. The correct steps are as follows:

1. Rinse off dust from the lens surface with cold water. Never use hot water;

2. Drop two drops of lens cleaning solution/dish soap (preferably a neutral surfactant) onto the center of the lens. Then gently rub the lens to thoroughly break down and dissolve the oil on the inner and outer surfaces of the lens.

3. Rinse the inside and outside of the lens with cold water;

4. Use a lens cloth to wipe the water stains from the lens surface in a clockwise direction. Never wipe back and forth.
